At Komodo Wellbeing, we believe in creating impactful, evidence-informed tools that help schools prioritise mental health and wellbeing. This year, we were incredibly proud to be recognised in the HundrED Global Collection 2025 - A shortlist of 100 of the most impactful and scalable education innovations worldwide.

Here’s a behind-the-scenes look at why we applied, what the process involved, and what this recognition means to us.

Why we applied

HundrED and the HundrED foundation are a mission-driven organisation that aims to track innovation in the education space and provide education leaders with the research and tools to implement innovation effectively. The HundrED team regularly work with researchers at Harvard, Oxford, International Baccalaureate and more leading organisations to align innovation growth with the latest education and youth development research.

HundrED’s mission to improve education through innovation resonates strongly with our own values at Komodo. We are constantly striving to support schools with tools that genuinely make a difference and being included in the Global Collection felt like a meaningful way to benchmark our impact on an international scale.

We also saw HundrED as a network to connect with like-minded innovators and education leaders around the world. Sharing knowledge and learning from others is vital to our growth and ultimately, to better supporting student and staff wellbeing.

The application process

As part of the submission, we were asked to demonstrate how Komodo is innovative, impactful, and scalable, this was HundrED’s 3 key criteria. The application process was thoughtful and reflective and offered us a chance to evidence our journey in the edtech space.

We shared:

  • The story behind Komodo and why we focus on student and staff wellbeing.

  • Data and testimonials from schools showing how our tools have improved pastoral care processes, increased awareness, and helped identify those in need of support early.

  • The research and methodology behind the psychology embedded in Komodo and the process we follow to ensure our platform stays effective and evidence-based.

Our global growth journey, including our expansion into South East Asia and the Middle East.

The selection process

This year's global collection was curated from a pool of over 3000 innovations from all over the world. Each innovation is reviewed by the HundrED review board, which is made up of over 200 students, academics, educators, and researchers. HundrED uses the feedback from the review board to evaluate each innovation's potential for impact and scale.

Komodo was rated favourably for both our impact and scalability.

Key highlights from our academy feedback included:

“I have not seen anything quite like this before. Wellbeing post pandemic and in relation to student relationships with social media is a huge concern in many schools. Schools that are ill equipped to manage the issues. This does everything.”
“Komodo demonstrates scalability by catering to diverse educational systems… This global presence indicates that its methodologies are transferable & beneficial to the majority of students.”

What we learned

Going through the application gave us a valuable opportunity to reflect on how far we have come. As a team, it was motivating to consolidate our achievements, especially the impact stories from schools and educators using Komodo every day.

It also reaffirmed our belief that wellbeing needs to be embedded in the culture of every school at a foundational level. Being able to clearly show that our solution is making a difference at scale was incredibly affirming.
